Remembering Iron Lady of Goa Late Shanti Prabhu Tendulkar

Late Shanti Prabhu Tendulkar was born on 16 Feb 1966 in the small village of Khodye Sattari .She was a prominent social Worker .She always had a very high self esteem , courage to challange the impossible and selfselss feeling to do something for the society.She was also very much determinant about her goals .From Childhood she had got lessons for social service.Mother was a Governmnet Nurse who was known for veterinary delivery who rarely charged .Most of her care and service for Satari pisulem ,Vatem and nearby rural poor peoples it was charity.Her Mother Suhasini was a Lady with political spirit too. She was elected as Sarpach .Shantis mother was also a dynamic lady who had been a in politics times when Politics was dominanted by Man.

Shanti tendulakr was inspired by her Father seniourmost Jounalist and Social Activist Shri Sadanad Prabhu Tendulkar .Sadanand had always been a major reason for shantis outgoind nature From childhood to youth age she was always accompanied by her Father to diffrent social ,Cultural and Political Programmes .Her upbringing was influenced by two prominent social workers.Father Sadanand baab Tendulkar was also a famour Konkani literary person.he had published various Poems on Nature , Social issuues and many were childrens poems . He has played a major role in Konkani Movement . Upbrining of Shanti was in Konkani culture . she also had interest in writing in Konkani. She was very close to Hema Naik . Hema is Goa Fighter cum writer Lady .They both made good pair .She made shanti part of various konkani Programmes.Konkani Chitrangi Programme was organised at Shantis House.For this Programme many literary people had gathered. Shanti had named her house as GHOTER . Ghoter word is konknai which means Nest.
